Lauren McArthur (b. 1994) uses colored pencils, marker, acrylic, mixed media and watercolor to create pictures of animals, places and people. Lauren creates portraits of dogs and cats for lucky friends and neighbors and tessellation paintings of characters of her creation. Lauren loves color and patterns and is constantly working on evolving her practice. Lauren’s neighborhood is another one of her inspirations, her paintings capture colorful scenes of New York. Lauren practices out of Summertime, YAI Arts, and Felicity House. Lauren’s work has been featured in numerous galleries around New York City and has recently had work in the Museum of Modern Art and The Drawing Center’s annual auction. Lauren has a chihuahua puppy named Rosie and hopes to share her art far and wide leaving the viewer feeling happier and less alone.
